Porch & Entrance

The entrance to the main residence welcomes you from a covered porch through a large and impressive local hardwood timber door (1.2m x 2.3m). All external doors are fitted with deadbolts and have iron screen doors for added security. These iron doors are fitted with Jackson brand 5-lever mortice locks with special keys that can only be cut by regulated dealers (we have 6 key copies per door). An electric doorbell from outside the front gate rings upstairs.

Hall & Staircase

Entering the large hallway, the curved staircase is an instant wow feature, dressed in high quality Italgres tiles from Spain. The downstairs hallway has a handy storage room under the stairs and two other exit doors, one connecting to the front apartment and then second to a further store room and beyond to the middle and back apartments.

Open Plan Living - Upstairs

Climbing the stairs, you know immediately how impressive the interior is as you look up to the high ceilings of the open plan main living space. The ceiling is 3.7m at its shortest, and reaching to 5m high in the centre – all with exposed wooden truss beams and dressed in panelled timber and with skylight. The wooden floorboards of the huge main living space (13m x 5.3m) compliment the style and large breezy louvre windows surround the lounge area with views towards the sea. The room is lit by seven hanging lights with frosted glass shades and has a large ceiling fan. The room is so breezy and the ceiling so high that air-con is not necessary. Adjacent to the kitchen is another open space that we used as a dining area (8-seater dining table); but currently I use it as my home office space as the views out towards the veranda and sea are just fantastic. A guest toilet and bar room connect to the living area between the lounge area and staircase.

The Main Veranda

Extending from the lounge is a massive veranda (8m x 4m), most of it subtly screened from insects but with a screen door leading out to a narrow open air front portion where we have container pots of flowers. The veranda has high quality ceramic tiles and space for a large 10-seater dining table, Queen size day bed and lounge seats. One side of the veranda overlooks the swimming pool, the other side towards the ocean and with fantastic sunsets. High security spotlights are on all eave corners.

Kitchen & Laundry

The open plan kitchen (4.4m x 4.9m) extends from the main living area and is a cookers delight. A large L-shaped bar with stool space either side encloses the kitchen from the lounge and dining area. Chef gas 5-burner cooker (twin gas bottles are located downstairs with a disconnecting knob for safety beside the cooker) and an electric Westinghouse oven are integrated in an island. There are a dozen wood laminated cupboards and drawers plus a 2-basin sink and drainer as well as space for a microwave and dishwasher. A good size pantry (3m x 1.6m) gives additional storage space and bottle water dispenser. Leading from the kitchen is the huge interior laundry space (3m x 4.4m) and an external veranda of similar size with washing machine, double sink basin and a fixed head rotary clothes line extending beyond the veranda edge and receiving sun most of the day.

Master Bedroom

The master bedroom has a total living space of 6.5m x 6.5m and includes a walk-in-wardrobe, ensuite bathroom and private veranda overlooking the front of the property. Dressed in porcelain tiles, the room has both air-con and ceiling fan as well as two large louvre windows for fresh air, with both blinds and curtains. The ensuite features a Jacuzzi tub, toilet, shower, his and her sinks and a large mirror. Water is heated by solar panels with an electric booster switch in the ensuite bathroom (hardly needed but we use it once or twice a year when it's cloudy for an extended period).

2nd & 3rd Bedrooms

The two other bedrooms are on the other side of the house and share a bathroom and separate toilet. The larger bedroom (4m x 3.5m) has air-con and ceiling fan, plus a small private veranda; the smaller bedroom (4m x 3.1m) ceiling fan only with external door connecting to the laundry veranda. Both bedrooms have built in cupboards. An airing cupboard is located between the bedrooms and there's a fold down wooden staircase to access the large loft space (approx. 11m x 7m; 2m high in centre) and with a light.
